2 guys, in the evening, in the end with sign "WN" (Wiener Neustadt) I recommend trying to reach the McDonald's in Bad Fischau (beautiful building) because many people go just locally, but from the Rest station it's just easier to go further.

Tough spot, a lot of heavy vehicles but no intensive to offer a ride. Can be hard to find a good spot. At the end I hung around the gas station. I had no luck with standing near the exit or in the town. After all got a ride to Wien.

The cars don't have a perfect opportunity to stop but with the drive threw beeing directly beside the chance of finding somebody driving to Vienna/Linz is high

Great spot, around 40 cars per minute on a Friday midday. Our sign said Munich and we got dropped off close to Linz.

Nice place, and a bit of luck on a way directly to Graz. Guy took us to gas station near Graz airport. Probably good spot to Slovenia - Ljubljana.

Don’t recommend this place. Really not good spot to Graz direction, so we (2) waited too long and in the end, man working on gas station took us back to Vienna. Everyone went just to Vienna or Eisenstadt on M3.

Terrible spot to Graz direction. Everyone went to Linz direction or just to Vienna. From this place we (couple) moved just a few kilometers (20 minute ride) to gas station under Vienna.

Not so frequent gas station, but last in Slovakia in a way to Austria/Hungary. We (couple) spent some time here and asking people directly and also with sign to Vienna/Graz, but we didn’t manage it to Graz that day.

Really nice spot for Znojmo and Vienna, cars are slow from the roundabout, can see you clearly and almost everybody goes in this direction. Even though it didn't feel really safe a truck stopped for me after just few minutes. But for a passenger car, the spot is large enough.

The first car stopped and took me to Vienna
Enough space to stop and cars are going slowly and have enough time to see you

Difficult to get a ride to Budapest. Probably best to look for Slovak plates and get a ride to “ASFINAG Raststation Göttlesbrunn”. There you’ll see more Hungarian plates.

Really difficult place to go to Hungary, there is like 95% of locals and 5% that goes to Bratislava (we could go there 2 times). We took just a lift to the airport and see what happens.

Wasn't lucky because of the rain but quite good spot on the roundabout. Not so crowded area on a afternoon weekday

It looks great, I was just probably unlucky. Waited 1h20 and got a ride only to St Polten.

Not perfect in terms of safety but it is just the best in this area. Only few minutes to take a ride to Wien

good spot to hitch a ride to linz/wien. mcdonald’s next door. better than trying to get to the ENI station down on A1 m, there’s no back road to it

I was sitting on the metal railing. I made pretty big WIEN sign because cars are going fast here.

A lot of traffic, mostly - but not only - cars from Germany, Austria, but also Hungary, Slovakia and Czechia.
However! Germans won't take you, so it is better not to waste time with them...

We were heading towards Budapest but few people were going towards Hungary. More people are heading to a nearby airport. So we caught a ride to the airport and from there we will try to catch a hitchhiking to Budapest.

Weak spot - you can't hitchhike on the motorway - we were picked up by the road service and dropped to the nearest station - there was no ticket, but they told us that there was an absolute ban on catching a foot on the highway.
